I wish to bring attention to two watershed events in the Cold War saga -

* The Berlin blockade 1949
* The Cuban missile crisis 1962
While the former attempted to stop food and electricity supplies from (Soviet) East Berlin to (Allied) West Berlin following the change of currency from the Reichmark to the Deutshemark, the latter resulted from an attempt to deploy Soviet nuclear missiles to Cuba (directed against the United States).
Both would have triggered a nuclear Armageddon....
Any lessons for the world here ? π’π’π’
