Madurai

Madurai is an enchanting city (temple city). The road signs are in English and Tamil. The iconic autorickshaws have even pictures of mickey mouse on them ! The Meenakshi amman temple is the jewel in the crown. There is a point where only Hindus can enter. There is a point where people in lungis cannot enter. The Thirumala Nayak temple is an architectural marvel. The Gandhi museum is an eye opener..... Rating :   😜😜😜😜😜😜😜

Random Thoughts : Diaries 💙

Robot "feeling" ☝ A robot cannot be ascribed to be a creature with emotions. (as of now). But I think that using a task-reward architecture, feeling can be simulated in a robot. Scenario -------- Consider a room cleaning robot. Here is the flow diagram - bool Scan_for_dirt = scan_for_dirt_status (using imaging sensors) do if (found)         give audio feedback "Hmmm - It seems that there is still work to be done...."     Continue Cleaning Else     Flash lights and give audio feedback "Wow - The room is clean Sir...."     Stop while (true) Using feedback - audio and visual a robot can not only simulate happiness but create the same in the owner. Is this then not an example of a robot entering the human emotion space ? Popularity paradox Charles Bronson was a popular cine artist well into his eighties. Newton was popular and enigmatic in-spite of being of a nervous disposition. Unstable individuals on account of ce...

Rahul Gandhi Ratan Tata Salman Khan A P J Abdul Kalam India is known for (or at least assumed to be famous for....)   - arranged marriages - lavish weddings   In this context the ideal of remaining a bachelor (unsullied, so to speak) remains a questionable paradigm.   However, there are some truly exceptional Indians who have never taken the plunge.   Here is a brief listing of the same :   1. Rahul Gandhi - Scion of the Gandhi family, grandson of Indira Gandhi (ex-PM), son of Sonia Gandhi (de-facto head of the Congress Party). He has decided to go it alone, possibly putting an end to the dynasty politics associated with his family.   2. Ratan Tata : Scion of the Tata family, which is a multi-billion dollar conglomerate holder, and Chairman of the Tata group. In spite of company politics, affecting recent fortunes of the group, he remains a mystical and enigmatic figure.   3. Salman Khan : Son of Salim Khan, a Hindi movie icon and promoter of socia...

Myeongryang : The story of Yi Sun-sin

The Admiral: Roaring Currents  The movie is a 2014 South Korean war film directed and co-written by Kim Han-min. Based on the historical Battle of Myeongnyang, it stars Choi Min-sik in the lead role of the Korean naval commander Yi Sun-sin. In October 1597, a Japanese fleet of 330 ships tried to attack the small Korean fleet of 12 ships. As the Japanese moved toward the Korean fleet, Admiral Yi enticed the Japanese fleet to a long and narrow strait which has fast and strong wave-flow and he hampered the Japanese fleet’s navigating by blocking the strait with steel chains. Therefore, many Japanese ships were gathered and stuck in the narrow strait, as the tide shifted. The cannons on Korean warships outside the strait bombarded the Japanese ships. The Japanese fleet, having lost more than 31 warships, retreated to the east and they finally gave up advancing toward the west by sea. It set a record for achieving 10 million viewers in South Korea in the shortest amount of time. What is...
